Chiquita Brands sentenced
A jury in Florida has found Chiquita Brands liable for various killings carried out by the United Self Defense Forces of Colombia, a right-wing paramilitary group the company financed during Colombia's civil conflict. Chiquita has been ordered to pay millions to more than a dozen family members of farmers and other civilians killed in separate incidents by the group between the late 1990's to early 2000's. Host John Kiriakou discusses with Professor Terry Karl how Chiquita Brands, formally known as United Fruit, Co. still faces hundreds of similar lawsuits in courts across America.
