The lost reality of Reagan’s Star Wars program
The Strategic Defense Initiative was President Reagan’s idea for a space-based anti-missile system. Detractors called it ‘Star Wars’, as the science fiction film series exploded in popularity. Even though the president begged for support from Congress to fund the program for years, no progress was made. Finally, Subrata Ghoshroy, one of the top scientists in his field, came forward to tell the truth – the program seemed more fiction than science. On this episode of The Whistleblowers, John Kiriakou talks about the failed defense program and the fallout with Subrata Ghoshroy.
