In this episode of RT’s Sanchez Effect, Rick sits down for an exclusive interview with the Indian ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar. That’s while New Delhi has once again found itself at a crossroads between East and West, as US President Donald Trump imposes more tariffs against India over its co-operation with Russia. New Delhi refuses to give in to threats and stays firm in dealing with Moscow. Ambassador Kumar calls the US actions ‘unfair’ and praises the privileged strategic ties with Russia. He says many Indians respect Russia for its positive attitude towards their country and its understanding of India’s national interests and history. Mr. Kumar has welcomed the upcoming Putin-Trump historic meeting in Alaska and said that India is always here to promote peace and common prosperity. The senior diplomat has dismissed claims that BRICS is against the dollar or the West, saying the group is not AGAINST but actually FOR developing and promoting co-operation. The ambassador also reminds us that New Delhi is about to assume the rotating presidency of BRICS and will focus its work on boosting the bloc’s capabilities to become an even stronger voice of the Global South. Don’t miss the full interview here on RT International.
