Weapons of mass distraction

With the very real prospect or war hanging over the world, the media has a special role to play in getting to the truth.

A properly functioning free press is there to speak that truth and be the backbone of a strong democracy.

But what happens when a partisan media stops holding power to account – can it still claim to serve the people or does it become a weapon of mass distraction?
