Many of the country’s health professionals, fighting COVID-19 on the front lines, are burdened with massive student loan debt. The issue holds back the lives of those willing to put their health at risk for the health of others. It may have also left much of the country underprepared as we face a shortage of nurses and doctors. The high cost of medical school is also pushing many to simply abandon their dreams of becoming a doctor or nurse altogether.
