When it comes to social media, people in developing and emerging countries are continuing to increase their use. But is this necessarily a good thing? We now know social media companies are well aware of the negative effect their platforms have on the youth of today but have done very little. On this episode of 360 View, Scottie Nell Hughes speaks to Welisane Mokwe Nkeng, a radio journalist and community mental health activist, about whether advancements in technology might cause drawbacks for the youth of the developing world. Scottie also gets some perspective from Geeta Sahai, founder of The Red Door, a mental health initiative in India.
