Maxwell Boamah Amofa

Maxwell Boamah Amofa serves as Executive Director for International Partnerships for African Development (IPAD) and as a Research Officer at the West Africa Transitional Justice Centre (WATJ Centre). He is an advocate for African unity, transitional justice, and sustainable development in Africa, while his core interest lies in mitigating and resolving armed conflicts on the continent. 

Maxwell has participated in guided sessions at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the International Court of Justice and International Criminal Court in The Hague.

Maxwell’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Political Studies and history from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, and a Master’s degree in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). His research focused on the application of human rights in armed conflicts in the G5 Sahel region including Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Mauritania, and Chad. He also pursued advanced legal studies in Jurisprudence at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia.
